With Christmas just around the corner, it's time to dust off the decorations and add a bit of festive spirit to your home. We thought we’d enlist the help of our good friends and stockist at Luca Luna, to kindly pass on some tips on how to make your own dried floral wreath from scratch that looks festive, natural and uniquely amazing.
~
1. Source a wreath base
2. Forage your floral ingredients
It’s best to use preserved or dry flowers, so your wreath will look just as good for next Christmas. Start hunting around your backyard & neighbourhood. Palm fronds, seed pods, dried foliage & leaves are perfect.
Remember the more variety of shape and texture the better.
Add a pop of colour, by visiting your local florist for some preserved flowers.
3. Start assembling
Once you have collected your elements, all you need is twine, a hot glue gun, and a glass of wine!
First, decide whether you would like a full wreath, or simply a feature at the bottom, an inspiration pic can be a big help.
4. It’s hot glue gun time!
If you see any empty spots or gaps in your wreath, weave the stems of finer elements into the base & hot glue gun generously in place.
5. Hang or place
